Justice Obama Style

Heritage Morning Bell

Politics Before Justice at Obama’s DOJ
On Friday of last week, following the announcement that Attorney General Eric Holder would appoint a prosecutor to re-investigate the CIA’s treatment of detainees, former Vice President Dick Cheney taped an interview with Fox News. During the interview, which aired yesterday on Fox News Sunday, Cheney describes Holder’s decision as an “outrageous political act” that will have “devastating” consequences within the CIA.

Cheney is dead on. But unfortunately Holder’s political CIA witch hunt is just the latest example of a troubling pattern of politicization of the Justice Department under Holder Voter Intimidation: On Election Day 2008, members of the New Black Panther Party dressed in military-style uniforms were filmed standing outside a polling place in Philadelphia. According to a complaint filed by career lawyers at the Justice Department, the New Black Panther Party violated section 11(b) of the Voting Rights Act by engaging “in coercion, threats, and intimidation” of voters, including “racial threats and racial insults” as well as brandishing “a deadly weapon.”

One of the defendants named was Jerry Jackson, a Democratic Committeeman of the 14th Ward in Philadelphia. The front-line career lawyers in the Voting Section of the Civil Rights Division recommended that Justice seek sanctions against the party and three of its members after the government had already won a default judgment in federal court against the men. But then Associate Attorney General Thomas Perrelli, the politically appointed No. 3 official in the Obama Justice Department, intervened. Instead of following through and getting an injunction to prevent this behavior in future elections, the suit was dismissed against all defendants, but Jackson, who received a watered-down injunction to prevent him from carrying a weapon in a polling place. But only in Philadelphia and only until 2012!

Public Corruption: In 2008, a federal grand jury began an investigation into a possible pay-to-play scheme in which lucrative work on New Mexico bond deals went to a Gov. Bill Richardson (D) donor. But then just last week, news leaked that that no one would be charged in the investigation with sources telling the Associated Press: “It’s over. There’s nothing. It was killed in Washington.”

Heritage senior legal fellow Hans von Spakovsky explains why this is so troubling: “For anyone familiar with internal Justice Department procedures, this is particularly suspicious. The DOJ has a manual called “Federal Prosecution of Election Offenses” (I helped edit the latest edition when I was at Justice) that sets out the rules and procedures for U.S. attorneys when they are investigating these types of public-corruption cases. It is the U.S. attorney in New Mexico who would normally make the final call on a local public-corruption case, not ‘top Justice Department officials’ in Washington.”

Undermining National Security: In 2004 the CIA Inspector General issued a report documenting alleged detainee abuse by CIA interrogators and contractors. The DOJ’s career, not political, prosecutors then examined that document and other incidents from Iraq and Afghanistan for legal accountability. In one case, the DOJ decided to prosecute, and has already obtained a criminal conviction of a CIA contractor.

Furthermore, the CIA has also taken their own disciplinary action against others involved in the incidents. As Heritage senior fellow Peter Brookes explains, Holder’s decision to re-investigate the CIA will have a chilling effect on the morale at the agency and will leave officers in the field wondering whether they should be more concerned about getting terrorists or getting lawyers.

Anyone familiar with Holder’s history should not be surprised by the politicization of the Justice Department under his leadership. In 1999, Holder promoted clemency for 16 members of FALN and Los Macheteros, terrorist organizations linked by the FBI to more than 130 bombings and six murders. Then in 2000 Holder played a prominent role in the pardon of Marc Rich, whose ex-wife gave considerable sums to the Democratic Party ($867,000) and the Clinton Library ($450,000).

Now, as the head of DOJ, Holder’s political decisions are undermining core rule of law concerns including the integrity of elections, ethical governance, and national security. Holder reports directly to his boss, President Barack Obama.

Someone needs to be held accountable.

Cap and Trade Apollo Style

Cap-and-trade can’t bridge gap between unions and enviros
By: Booker T. Stallworth
August 30, 2009

Inspired by the speed and spending of the Apollo moon landing, the Apollo Alliance — a coalition of community organizers, environmentalists and big labor — is aggressively pushing President Barack Obama’s plan to regulate carbon emissions through cap-and-trade.
If a recent meeting of labor and environmentalists is any indication, however, cap-and-trade may end up in a disaster more reminiscent of the Apollo 13 mission than the triumphant Apollo 11 landing.
Earlier this month, the AFL-CIO and its Washington state affiliate hosted a conference on the proposal in Wenatchee, Wash. Despite labor’s seat at the table, Bob Baugh, executive director of the AFL-CIO Industrial Union Council, conceded that cap-and-trade posed a serious threat to workers, especially labor members in energy-intensive industries.
Baugh’s right. According to a recent report by the Heritage Foundation, Waxman-Markey would cost millions of jobs and would increase unemployment levels for every year: 1.9 million fewer jobs in 2012, and an average of 1.14 million fewer jobs from 2012 through 2035. Those industries most affected would include manufacturing, glass, plastic and rubber-product production, and the fabricated-metal industries — all heavily unionized sectors.

From The American Thinker

In the face of such aggressive liberal grasps for American liberties, the majority conservative base is now starting to wake up and jump off the fence. People who once rebuked the Minuteman protesters for going to the US/Mexican border to protest lax immigration enforcement in 2004 are now themselves going to town halls and organizing Tea Party protests of their own, and public opinion polls are now taking decided shifts into traditionally conservative directions.

In short, the American conservative base has been marshaled onto the political equivalent of Sun Tzu's death ground, and the ideological pawns are finding fewer paths of retreat from the advancing onslaught of the liberal agenda. Let us hope that this death ground empowers conservatives from both political parties to once again
become focused in their resolve not to be left out of the process.

As I write these words, we definitely find ourselves deep within the ranks of the liberal stronghold. There is no compromise now. The concept of common ground
is a luxury we can no longer afford. The die has been cast and the premise is being dictated to us now. This is death ground that only the force of will can return us from. It is time for the silent majority among us to stand and make their voices heard, because if we have learned nothing else from the past 15 years, it should be that silence is considered to be tacit approval by those in power, be they Democrat or Republican alike.

Spin City with Baghdad Bob Gibbs

It's official. The Obama Administration and proponents of government-run health care must think the American people are total and complete idiots.

On Sunday, the Obama Administration released a trial balloon that Obama was willing to "compromise" on health care reform by dropping the government-run "public option" from ObamaCare and replacing it with a so-called "health care co-op."

On Monday, the Obama Administration started backing away, ever so slightly, from that trial balloon.

Linda Douglass, communications director for the White House Office of Health Reform, said Obama still "believes the public option is the best way" to achieve his goals.

And White House Press Secretary Robert "Baghdad Bob" Gibbs emphatically stated that previous comments regarding the health care co-ops "were misinterpreted" but hedged the statement by saying that "Obama is happy to look at them [alternatives to the public-option]."

If your head is spinning, don't be confused. The trial balloon is nothing more than an indication of what is to come in this battle over ObamaCare.

Simply put, after having failed to pass ObamaCare in the dark of night... after having failed to ram ObamaCare down the throats of the American people... the Obama Administration is moving to "Plan C."

In short, they'll try to put lipstick on this pig of a health care plan... they'll change the terminology and announce so-called "compromises" until you believe that they are backing down from their statist plan to impose government-run health care on every man, woman and child in the United States.

So don't be deceived. As with the Amnesty debate two years ago, every so-called "compromise" will be more of the same... every so-called "compromise" will essentially give the proponents of ObamaCare everything they want.

And that's why we must take the bull by the horns and make our voices heard. Now is the time to tell our elected officials, in no uncertain terms, that we want "no compromises."

Now is the time to tell our elected officials that we want ObamaCare buried... that we will not accept ObamaCare, no matter how it is packaged... that we will not accept ObamaCare in any way, shape or form.

Yes Zero IS a Racist

Alexander's Essay – August 20, 2009
Media Blackout
"Equal and exact justice to all men..." --Thomas Jefferson
Editor's Note: PG suggested -- this essay contains graphic descriptions of a brutal crime.
In 1775, John Adams wrote, "There is in human nature a resentment of injury, and indignation against wrong, a love of truth and a veneration of virtue ... if the people are capable of understanding, seeing and feeling the differences between true and false, right and wrong, virtue and vice..."
Adams understood that a shared penchant for justice and virtue is essential to liberty, and depends upon the ability of people to discern between right and wrong.
Today, it is evident to every astute social scientist (and most anyone with common sense) that among definable American subcultures the capacity for distinguishing between right and wrong is severely diminished.
The origin of these deteriorating standards for justice and virtue is rooted in the dissolution of the family, and the failure of our places of worship and our schools to instill those values necessary for self-government -- self-government being the foundation of family-government and that being the foundation of social responsibility.
U.S. urban centers, and to a lesser extent suburban and rural areas, are now home to generations of sociopaths who do not value your life, simply because they do not value their own.
Making matters worse, the MSM perpetuates a virtual blackout of news regarding select sociopaths, while trumpeting allegations and speculations of others. This results in a distorted popular understanding of the extent of the social degradation around us.

Three years ago (March 2006), the Leftmedia spent a year relentlessly convicting in the court of public opinion three white Duke University lacrosse players for a "hate crime" -- the alleged gang rape of a black woman named Crystal Gail Mangum. Millions of dollars in defense-lawyer fees later, it turns out that there was no evidence and that Mangum was a liar. The real victims were, in fact, the accused men: David Evans, Reade Seligmann and Colin Finnerty. (All charges were dropped, but there has been no apology yet from 88 Duke professors who jumped on the bandwagon, condemning Evans, Seligmann and Finnerty in an open letter before the first day of their trial.)

Four weeks ago, Barack Hussein Obama interrupted a live media propaganda confab promoting his administration's most critical national initiative (nationalizing health care) in order to accuse a white Cambridge, MA, police officer, James Crowley, of "acting stupidly" for arresting Obama's black friend, Henry Gates. That accusation was followed by similar knee-jerk pronouncements of racism by the black governor of Massachusetts and the black mayor of Cambridge. Under such heavy-handed political and media pressure, all charges against Gates were dropped.

The Gates' story dominated the national media headlines for a couple weeks, until it was determined that the officer's actions were, in fact, justified. Obama attempted to make amends by tossing back a few beers with the Gates and Crowley in the Rose Garden, but BO offered no public apology. (Narcissists do not apologize, they just reinterpret the facts.)

This week, there is a trial underway which is racially charged, but, unless you were reading The Patriot back in 2007, chances are you have not heard of this one since it involves a savage black-on-white crime, rather than MSM feeding frenzy accusations of white-on-black crimes.

Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom

I am referring to the brutal torture, mutilation and murder of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom by four black men in Knoxville, Tennessee.
In the event you were not a reader in '07, allow me to recount this horrendous incident ... because you won't see or hear it from any MSM news outlets.
On 6 January 2007, Channon (age 21) and Christopher (age 23) were out for a Saturday dinner date, after which Channon called her mom to report that they were on the way to visit friends. But Channon and Christopher never arrived at their friends' house -- nor returned home.
The next day, the mutilated and burned remains of Chris Newsom were found along a railroad track. Two days later, Channon's mutilated body was recovered from a trash bin.
Channon and Chris were in Channon's Toyota 4-Runner when they were carjacked. They were taken to a nearby house, brutally gang-raped, mutilated and then murdered. They were subjected to lengthy torture in each other's presence.
Newsom was raped, his genitals were cut off, and then taken to the railroad tracks where he was shot execution-style. The perpetrators soaked his body with an accelerant and burned his body.
Christian was kept alive for a while longer, repeatedly raped, mutilated, had cleaning solution poured down her throat in an attempt to destroy DNA evidence, and then stuffed inside a trash can where she suffocated to death.
This appalling attack is more than a case study in sociopathic evil. It is a case study about which stories the MSM headlines and which they do not. Yes, there are some 17,000 murders committed in the U.S. each year, but this double murder was clearly far more barbaric, far more monstrous, than most.
Regrettably, there is nothing new about the racial aspect of this story, which may explain why it was not national news. Although blacks represent just 12 percent of the U.S. population, black perpetrators are convicted by a jury of their peers in more than half of all murder and manslaughter cases. Additionally, per-capita black-on-white crime is far more prevalent than the inverse.
The underlying social factors contributing to such racially unbalanced crime statistics have been delineated by many conservative black leaders and academicians. However, their solutions -- most notably promoting family unity, faith-based programs, better schools and individual responsibility and accountability, contradict leftist political objectives, which seek to maintain black folks' status as wards of the state. (The modern Democrat implementation of a plantation system.)

The Accused

Charged in the torture/murder of Chanon and Christopher were Eric Boyd, Letalvis Cobbins, Lemaricus Davidson, George Thomas and Vanessa Coleman.
In April 2008, Boyd was convicted in federal court of being an accessory after the fact, but the MSM was too busy fawning over the candidacy of Barack Obama to report that conviction. (Boyd's case is on appeal.)
"One down. Four to go," said Channon's father, Gary Christian.
He and Channon's mother, Deena have been present at all the proceedings. "We do this for Channon," said Deena. "We've been through the worst. We and the Newsoms have lost our children. We can endure anything."
This week, the trial of a second defendant, Letalvis Cobbins, is underway, but it's safe to say that the prosecution of this defendant will pass without a satellite news-link truck anywhere in sight.
I draw your attention to this case not only to mourn the murder of this young couple, but also to call attention to a despicable political double standard which includes the MSM's complicity in advancing that standard.

In 1998, three white men in Jasper, Texas, beat a black man, James Byrd, then chained him to the back of a pickup truck and dragged him three miles to his death. Not surprisingly, Byrd's murder received national media attention -- as it should.
Clearly, hate was a motivating factor in the Jasper case, but it was also a motivating factor in Knoxville, though not a "hate crime" as defined by federal law. So, why do white-on-black hate crimes invariably result in a media feeding frenzy, while black-on-white hate crimes receive nary a mention?

What about the double standard when it comes to race-hustling poverty pimps like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton (who fabricated the Tawana Brawley rape hoax)? The only difference in racists such as Jackson and Sharpton and those in the KKK is that the latter are not Leftmedia celebs.

To that end, my colleague Walter Williams posited this query: "What have we heard from the NAACP, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and others who rushed to judgment and outrage as they condemned whites in the cases of the 'Jena 6' and Don Imus when he referred to the Rutgers ladies basketball team as 'nappy-headed ho's'? Where were the national news media and public officials? You can bet the rent money that, were the victims black and the perpetrators white, Knoxville would have been inundated with TV crews, with Jackson, Sharpton and other civil rights spokesmen and politicians from both parties condemning racism, possibly blaming it all on George Bush..."

As for the defendants in this case, Knox County has already paid in excess of $350 thousand to prosecute and defend these monsters. Based on the eyewitness account of defendant Vanessa Coleman, the question before Cobbins' jury, and those yet to be empanelled for the other defendants, is not one of guilt or innocence, but guilty of what charges.

Those found guilty will be treated to either life imprisonment, with all entitlements, or life on death row for maybe a couple decades -- all at a cost to taxpayers of more than $100 thousand per year per convict.

Martin Luther King, in his "Letter from a Birmingham Jail, proclaimed, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."
The MSM blackout of this crime is a grave injustice.
To the families and friends of Channon and Christopher, we share your grief and will continue this vigil with you until justice is served.
Semper Vigilo, Fortis, Paratus et Fidelis!

American Power: Disabled Woman Assaulted at Adam Schiff Town Hall: Kimberly King Speaks Out Against 'ACORN PRO-OBAMA THUGS'

There's more to the story: If you look at the start of the video, you'll see a "Sepulveda Boulevard" street sign, which is West Los Angeles. Protesters turned out yesterday for a demonstration at Senator Dianne Feinstein's Westwood Office at the intersection of Sepulveda and Santa Monica Boulevards. Check the page for the National Inflation Association. They've got loads of YouTube videos from the event. They've also got an accompanying article, "Violence at Town Hall Meetings Could Escalate" (another link is here):

You Want Obama Telling You How To Raise Your Children?

via email today

Tell Congress to Oppose Obama's Health Care Mandate
Alert: Health care reforms are turning into health care revolts. Americans are turning up the heat on congressmen in town hall meetings across the U.S.

While watching these political hot August nights, I decided to research the reasons so many are opposed to Obamacare to separate the facts from the fantasy. What I discovered is that there are indeed dirty little secrets buried deep within the 1,000-plus page health care bill.

Dirty secret No. 1 in Obamacare is about the government's coming into homes and usurping parental rights over child care and development.

It's outlined in sections 440 and 1904 of the House bill (Page 838), under the heading "home visitation programs for families with young children and families expecting children." The programs (provided via grants to states) would educate parents on child behavior and parenting skills.

The bill says that the government agents, "well-trained and competent staff," would "provide parents with knowledge of age-appropriate child development in cognitive, language, social, emotional, and motor domains ... modeling, consulting, and coaching on parenting practices," and "skills to interact with their child to enhance age-appropriate development."

Are you kidding me?! With whose parental principles and values? Their own? Certain experts'? From what field and theory of childhood development? As if there are one-size-fits-all parenting techniques! Do we really believe they would contextualize and personalize every form of parenting in their education, or would they merely universally indoctrinate with their own?

Are we to assume the state's mediators would understand every parent's social or religious core values on parenting? Or would they teach some secular-progressive and religiously neutered version of parental values and wisdom? And if they were to consult and coach those who expect babies, would they ever decide circumstances to be not beneficial for the children and encourage abortions?

One government rebuttal is that this program would be "voluntary." Is that right? Does that imply that this agency would just sit back passively until some parent needing parenting skills said, "I don't think I'll call my parents, priest or friends or read a plethora of books, but I'll go down to the local government offices"?

To the contrary, the bill points to specific targeted groups and problems, on Page 840: The state "shall identify and prioritize serving communities that are in high need of such services, especially communities with a high proportion of low-income families."

Are we further to conclude by those words that low-income families know less about parenting? Are middle- and upper-class parents really better parents? Less neglectful of their children? Less needful of parental help and training? Is this "prioritized" training not a biased, discriminatory and even prejudicial stereotype and generalization that has no place in federal government, law or practice?

Bottom line: Is all this what you want or expect in a universal health care bill being rushed through Congress? Do you want government agents coming into your home and telling you how to parent your children? When did government health care turn into government child care?
Government needs less of a role in running our children's lives and more of a role in supporting parents' decisions for their children. Children belong to their parents, not the government. And the parents ought to have the right -- and government support -- to parent them without the fed's mandates, education or intervention in our homes.

How contrary is Obamacare's home intrusion and indoctrination family services, in which state agents prioritize houses to enter and enforce their universal values and principles upon the hearts and minds of families across America?

Government's real motives and rationale are quite simple, though rarely, if ever, stated. If one wants to control the future ebbs and flows of a country, one must have command over future generations. That is done by seizing parental and educational power, legislating preferred educational methods and materials, and limiting private educational options. It is so simple that any socialist can understand it. As Josef Stalin once stated, "Education is a weapon whose effects depend on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed."

Before so-called universal health care turns into universal hell care, write or call your representative today and protest his voting Obamacare into law. Remind him that what is needed in Washington is a truly bipartisan group that is allowed an ample amount of time to work on a compromise health care law that wouldn't raise taxes (for anyone), regulate personal medical choices, ration health care or restrict American citizens. (TownHall)

Changing the Numbers Again

Looks like the numbers are changing again. I just heard the spokesman for Healthcare Reform Now tell everyone listening that no one earning over $350,000 a year will see their taxes go up. He referred to the premiums we pay for health insurance as a tax on the middle class. He says only the rich will be taxed.

The democrats and their usful idiots pushing this insidious attack on America's future are in spin mode. They will say anything that is useful for the moment to try to convince people to accept this monstrous tax increase on American citizens.

How's that whole hopey changey thing working for ya? Convinced yet?

United Conservatives of Virginia: Leftist Dirty Tricks

United Conservatives of Virginia: Leftist Dirty Tricks

Same mindset of the libtards that trashed the recruitment centers.
Hell, it might be the same people.

For Dems, Home Is Where the Heartburn Is

Don't forget the wannabe socialists will also change the names from time to time. They are now calling it health insurance reform.

The same way they went from "global warming" to "climate change" when the data didn't fit the message.

I seem to remember reading about these methods of mis-direction somehwere in my distant past. I seem to recall that the Soviets were notorious for these tactics.

From Family Research Council

The same members who wrote the book on political antagonism under President Bush are lashing out at voters for being outspoken on health care. In a stunning column in USA Today, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) seethed about the "ugly campaign" to derail the government takeover of health care. While everyday people are turning out by the thousands to voice concerns, the message from the top was simple: Anyone who disagrees with us is "simply un-American."

Obviously, these leaders have been so insulated from public opinion that any kind of focused resistance is uncomfortable. After getting their way for years, Congress seems shocked that voters are paying attention-so much so that any form of accountability or pointed questioning has them unnerved. Democrats who are used to seeing a few dozen constituents at their townhalls are facing boisterous, standing-room-only crowds--and their best retort is that dissent is "un-American"? Our nation was founded by dissenters! Deep down, these leaders know that this conflict is not a threat to society but only to their political fortunes.

In my home state of Louisiana, Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) put it best this weekend. "Someone told me I should have security for this meeting today because of the angry crowds... I told them the best security is to vote right!" Pelosi and Hoyer would do well to heed that advice. Like us, they realize that this debate is about more than health care reform. It's about President Obama's ability to push a radical social agenda. With every packed townhall, every phone call to a member's office, and every email expressing concern, these leaders' dream of redefining America is slipping away. Whether people realize it or not, this is an historic moment in our nation's development. If we can drive back the government takeover of health care, we could turn the tide for our country's future.

Decades ago, a mathematician named Jacob Bronowski wrote, "Has there ever been a society which has died of dissent? Several have died of conformity in our lifetime." Don't conform! Join the movement to "question authority" in Washington. Check out our nationwide townhall schedule at www.frcaction.org. A few hours of your time could literally save the nation. If you don't see your district or state mentioned, I encourage you to call your members of congress and ask them to meet with those whom they represent. Let us know what you find out.

Hawaii Tells CNN "We Don't Destroy Records"

Jon Klein, the president of CNN has spoken. Your efforts to demand that Barack Hussein Obama actually produce his birth certificate and prove to the American people that he is eligible to sit in the Oval Office... that he is not a fraud and a usurper... are "dead." According to Klein, "anyone who still is not convinced doesn't really have a legitimate beef." But Klein simply didn't keep that opinion to himself... as far as Klein is concerned, his opinion is the news.

According to TalkingPointsMemo.com (TPM), Klein had the audacity to send an e-mail to the CNN staff making an outrageous and totally bogus assertion. Essentially Klein claimed that Obama's actual birth certificate does not exist because the State of Hawaii destroyed it back in 2001:

Here's the relevant part of the e-mail:
"In 2001 - the state of Hawaii Health Department went paperless. Paper documents were discarded The official record of Obama's birth is now an official electronic record Janice Okubo, spokeswoman for the Health Department told the Honolulu Star Bulletin, 'At that time, all information for births from 1908 (on) was put into electronic files for consistent reporting,' she said."
And then, according to TPM, Klein essentially ordered CNN host Lou Dobbs to go on the air and repeat his outrageous fabrication:
Claiming that information contained in the email "seems to definitively answer the question," Klein issued the following directive: "Since the show's mission is for Lou to be the explainer and enlightener, he should be sure to cite this during your segment tonite. (sic)"
And Dobbs, who to his credit has taken Barack Hussein Obama to task for refusing to produce his birth certificate, ceded to his boss' wishes and reported the fabrication on the air that same night: "The state of Hawaii says it can't release a paper copy of the president's original birth certificate because they say the state government discarded the original document when the health department records went electronic some eight years ago. That explanation, however, has not satisfied some critics."
Of course, Klein's fabrication was so outrageous that even the State of Hawaii could not let it stand and Janice Okubo with the Hawaii Department of Health almost immediately issued a clarification: "I am not aware of any birth certificate records that have been destroyed by the department. When the department went electronic in 2001, vital records, whether in paper form or any other form, [were] maintained. We don't destroy records. ... Any records that we had in paper or any other form before 2001 are still in file within the department. We have not destroyed any vital statistics records that we have."
Of course, a number of news outlets took cues from CNN and repeated the fabrication and the extreme liberal blogosphere went crazy.
But you would be hard-pressed to find any coverage of Okubo's "clarification" anywhere. As far as the media was concerned, it didn't exist.
Unbelievable... but Klein's antics show that he (and other liberals in the media) are willing to go to any length... tell any lie... fabricate any story... to shield Barack Hussein Obama from any criticism.
Well, we have a message for Mr. Klein and the other liberals in the MSM. This story is not "dead" and the American people refuse to be silenced.
Tell Klein that it's time to stop distorting and start reporting.

Just In Case Someone Forgot

· USA Today, March 2005: "Shaken by raucous protests at open "town hall"-style meetings last month ... Santorum was among dozens of members of Congress who ran gantlets of demonstrators and shouted over hecklers at Social Security events last month.

Many who showed up to protest were alerted by e-mails and bused in by anti-Bush organizations such as MoveOn.org and USAction, a liberal advocacy group. They came with prepared questions and instructions on how to confront lawmakers."

Obama's dissident database could be secret -- and permanent

The White House request that members of the public report anyone who is spreading "disinformation" about the proposed national health care makeover could lead to a White House database of political opponents that will be both secret and permanent, according to Republican lawyers on the Senate Judiciary Committee who are examining the plan's possible implementation.

"So the White House, whether by design or accident, has requested information from the public that will become 'records' under the Presidential Records Act, yet would be impermissible for any government to otherwise collect under the Privacy Act," writes one Judiciary Committee source. "Where were the lawyers in all of this? What is their legal basis for authorizing the collection of these records?"

Constitutional Law Lecture Series

Ten Lectures On

The Constitution of the United States of America is under an unprecedented subversive attack from Barack Osama and his runaway Democrat Congress, aided and abetted by the complicit mainstream media.

While many “tea party” and other American patriots are valiantly trying to fight for our core constitutional values, they’re disarmed because they know little about American constitutional law.

They don’t know the answers to countless crucial constitutional questions. For example:

Did Congress have the constitutional power to give a lame-duck, unelected treasury secretary unchecked and unsupervised power to dispense a trillion dollars of taxpayer money?

Does Obama have the constitutional power to appoint unaccountable “Czars” over virtually every aspect of our lives?

Why did a bare majority of the Supreme Court usurp from President George W. Bush his constitutional control over America’s national security and the “War on Terrorism”?

Why do even supporters of Roe v. Wade’s result admit that, as constitutional law, the decision is indefensible?

How does the left justify interpreting the Constitution not as written, but as a “living” document that can mean anything Earl Warren, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and, soon, Sonia Sotomayor, feel it should mean?

Is the “fairness doctrine”—which could kill conservative talk radio—a violation of the Constitution’s First Amendment?

Are American citizens about to be stripped of their constitutional “right to bear arms”?

What are “unenumerated” constitutional rights, and why they have never been recognized?
Can the Constitution’s First Amendment be an effective counterweight to the enormous, ever-growing power of the federal government?

The answers to these and countless other questions about our Constitution and its interpretation will, for good or ill, determine much about the future of the United States of America.

Those who would fight for that future must learn the answers to these and many other constitutional questions. They must acquire, on a layperson’s level, a basic understanding of the Constitution's genesis, its written text, the manner in which it has been interpreted, and the consequences of that interpretation.

1 Formation of the American Republic
Events leading to the Declaration of Independence, the text and meaning of the Declaration of Independence, the Continental Congress, the Constitutional Convention, the text of the Constitution, the battle over ratification in the Federalist Papers and state conventions, the achievement of the first Congress, and the Bill of Rights ratification debate.

2 The American Constitutional System
An explanation of what "constitutional law" is, and where it comes from. The written document and why the Supreme Court is its final arbiter.

Federalism: the relationship and tensions between the federal and state governments, with examples showing federal legislation affecting matters which were supposed to be within the powers of the states.

Separation of powers: the relationship and tensions between the three supposedly equal branches of government — legislative, executive and judicial — with examples of where the “more equal” branch, the Supreme Court, refereed battles between the other two branches and, in the bargain, expanded its own powers.

Judicial supremacy: primarily Chief Justice John Marshall's opinion in Marbury vs. Madison, which established the principle of Judicial Review.

3 Congress and Its Powers

The source, nature, and scope of Congress’s power.

Congress’s power to regulate interstate commerce.

Congress’s war, foreign affairs, and related powers.

Congress’s other, miscellaneous powers.

4 The Presidency And Its Powers
The President's “chief executive” and “faithfully execute” power. The President's power as Commander-in-Chief.

5 The Judiciary And Its Powers
The source, nature, and scope of judicial power. Limitations, if any, on judicial power.

6 Intergovernmental Relations
The “horizontal” relationship between the states, and the requirement of “full faith and credit.”
Constitutional Limitations on Congress's Power
Textual limitations on the power of Congress, including slavery, and the writ of habeas corpus.
Constitutional Limitations On The Power Of The States
The few textual limitations of the power of the states, including the prohibition on their impairing contracts.

7 Prohibitions On Both Congress And The States: The Bill Of Rights
Introduction to the Bill of Rights.
The Bill of Rights applies only against the federal government.

8 The First Amendment

9 The Eighth Amendment
Cruel and Unusual Punishment.

10 The Fourteenth Amendment
Procedural due process: notice and opportunity to be heard.
Substantive due process: contraceptives and abortion.
Equal protection of the law. race, gender, sexuality.

The Left Is Deliberately Undermining Capitalism

Left Is Attacking Free Enterprise, Not Just Health Insurance
Posted August 4th, 2009 at 10.05am in Health Care.

It’s becoming clearer by the day that the “public option” for health care is just rhetorical cover for kicking out free enterprise.
The latest evidence is the strategy to attack and condemn private insurance. Speaker Nancy Pelosi calls the industry “immoral villains.” President Obama told the press, “If you take some of the profit motive out . . . you can get an even better deal.” He also told NBC, “People are having bad experiences because they know that recommendations are coming from people who have a profit motive.”
The head of the House’s ultra-liberal 80-member Progressive Caucus, Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-CA), told reporters that the number of uninsured is a symptom that private insurance is a failure and must be replaced with a single-payer government system.
How absurd. Why blame companies because not everybody has bought their product? Why not blame government for passing the laws and the over-regulation that designed our current flawed system?
Pelosi and friends also claim insurance companies are out of control because they’re too big. Their answer? Something even bigger and less accountable—a government-run plan.
The new strategy of the left is actually an echo of what then-First Lady Hillary Clinton told an audience when pushing HillaryCare. She proclaimed that it’s wrong for anyone to make a profit by treating or insuring the sick.
So is it also evil to make money by providing necessities like food, clothing, and a place to live? Is it only acceptable to make a profit if you’re selling whatever government deems is okay?
And if health insurance is immoral, what about life insurance, auto insurance, property insurance, etc.? Will government also “help us” by taking them over to drive out the evil profit motive?
The Left has launched a dangerous debate on health care, but it’s actually an extension of their attacks on Wall Street, banking, mortgage brokers, and others. They believe the bad mistakes made by business are an opportunity for more government control, which means more power for the political elite.
Yes, we have problems in health care and in other areas, too. But the proposed cures are worse than the disease. Besides, free enterprise has created an American standard of living that’s still the envy of the world. Fixing its problems is no excuse to tarnish its successes.

The Second 500 Pages of the Healthcare Bill

The Second 500 Pages of the Healthcare Bill

**Note**My real job, the one that actually pays the bills, requires me to read Regulese. For those of you not familiar with that language, it's used primarily in government documents; i.e. ASTM Standards, building codes, and procedures for testing and documenting any number of things. Its a pain in the ass to read, sometimes even harder to understand. The person reading this bill and reporting his findings to us, is doing what I do for a living, only I do it for engineers and building officials.

My point is this, we all have to rely on someone to provide us with enough information to make an informed decision. The person reading this bill is telling us what the government is trying to do to us.

Atlas Shrugs

More On Sarah from Pam
The more evil succeeds and overwhelms our foreign and domestic policy, our culture, our discourse and the very social fabric of our lives, the clearer it becomes that Palin is the antidote, the answer to fighting this morally bankrupt sewer in which we find ourselves during the Obama Administration. Pam Geller

When Sarah Palin gets the nomination in 2012, I hope she has the good sense to pick Pam Geller as her campaign press spokesperson, and then when she wins the election, Ms. Geller can be the press secratary. I miss the class acts we had with Tony Snow and Dana Perino and Ms Geller would definitely be a class act.

Her speech embodied what a great American sounds like, and what a President ought to sound like. Palin made no apologies. She said nothing like Obama's inane drone of "America's best days are behind us." No tearing down of our nation. Obama ranks on us; Palin raises us up and speaks of national pride.

First and foremost, she thanked our brave men and women defending this great nation and ripped the media, warning: "You represent what could and should be respected, honest profession that could and should be a cornerstone of our democracy. Democracy depends on you, and that is why, that's why our troops are willing to die for you. So, how about, in honor of the American soldier, you quit makin' things up?"

She briefly outlined her plans for real energy independence -- American resources for Americans -- speaking of commercializing our clean natural gas (AGIA) as the first private sector energy project in the history of America. Palin believes (and rightly so) that the pressing issue of our time is energy independence.

"There is," she said, "an inherent link between energy and prosperity...We will prove you can be pro-development and pro-environment because no one loves their clean air, and their land, and their wildlife more than an Alaskan. We will protect it!"

She invoked America's pioneering spirit. She urged us to resist enslavement to big central government: "Be wary of accepting government largess."

Sarah Palin embodies what an American is. She is what Washington, Jefferson, and Franklin envisioned when they carved out the American idea. Anyone who wants write her off, proceed at your own risk. The more evil succeeds and overwhelms our foreign and domestic policy, our culture, our discourse and the very social fabric of our lives, the clearer it becomes that Palin is the antidote, the answer to fighting this morally bankrupt sewer in which we find ourselves during the Obama Administration.

The low state of the world is a fact, but so are great Americans who will fight tooth and nail to stop what Obama is doing to America.

Clear thinking Americans see what is happening. America is being tested in a way she never has been before. The President has in every decision reinforced the impression that he is a radical, even a communist/Islamist: the usurpation of the Constitution, the bankrupting of our nation, the illegal grab of private wealth, the infiltration of Islamic supremacism, the abandonment of our allies, the weakening of our military.

It's stunning.

Sarah Palin sees it, too. Smart, sharp, patriotic, she best represents the majority of Americans. Not Obama's shills in the press, not the chattering elites and the Beltway insiders, but Americans.

Read it all and feel good.
