Does the Army take care of its own?

Based on information I've received in the last 24 hours, the answer is NO!!
The question now is WHY THE HELL NOT!?!?!?!
Don't get me wrong, I think our current military is the finest we've ever produced.
All volunteer; the best and brightest, according to this Heritage Foundation report. (in spite of what Rangle and jon cary say).
The Heritage Foundation also says this:
With regard to income, education, race, and regional background, the all-volunteer force is representative of our nation and meets standards set by Congress and the Department of Defense. In contrast to the patronizing slanders of antiwar critics, recruit quality is increasing as the war in Iraq continues. Although recent recruiting goals have been difficult to meet, reenlistment is strong and recruit quality remains high. No evidence supports arguments for reinstating the draft or altering recruiting policies to achieve more equitable representation.Read the full report here
I've met over 100 in the past year and a half, wounded and active, and managed to get to know half of those personally. I've partied with them, slept with them, (not like that, get your mind out of the gutter), and if there is a better bunch of folks, please tell me where they are.
But the Army is NOT taking care of those who take care of us, IMAO.
It's crap like this that fuels the rabid anti-military anti-war extreme moonbat left.
Get it together, DoD. Take care of your own. You ask them to do a job 90% of the people in this country can't do. The least you can do is take care of them when they come home.
