Compromise??? With Whom???

"The primary objective of the United States strategy in Iraq," reads the resolution, "should be to have the Iraqi political leaders make the political compromises necessary to end the violence in Iraq."
Compromises with whom? The al Qaeda forces? What compromises would satisfy them? With the Ba'athist Sunnis? Ditto. With Sunni and Shia militias? Maybe some would be satisfied by "political compromises." But some probably won't.

They don't get it. This is not about politics. This is about madmen who use religion as an excuse to kill people they don't like. This is about pedophiles whose only point of negotiation is the complete and total subjugation of everyone who is NOT muslim.

The only compromise these assholes will accept is our surrender.

Not only do they not get it, they will get us all killed.

and I just heard Nancy Pelosi say "We need to transition the role of the military from combat to training...."
She REALLY doesn't get it.

Open Letter to Our Armed Forces and Their Families

From Ben Stein

Greetings From Rancho Mirage By Ben Stein

Tuesday

Dear Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, National Guard, Reservists, in Iraq, in the Middle East theater, in Afghanistan, in the area near Afghanistan, in any base anywhere in the world, and your families:

Let me tell you about why you guys own about 90 percent of the backbone in the whole world right now and should be happy with yourselves and proud of whom you are.

It was a dazzlingly hot day here in Rancho Mirage today. I did small errands like going to the bank to pay my mortgage, finding a new bed at a price I can afford, practicing driving with my new 5 wood, paying bills for about two hours. I spoke for a long time to a woman who is going through a nasty child custody fight. I got e-mails from a woman who was fired today from her job for not paying attention. I read about multi-billion-dollar mergers in Europe, Asia, and the Mideast. I noticed how overweight I am, for the millionth time. In other words, I did a lot of nothing.

Like every other American who is not in the armed forces family, I basically just rearranged the deck chairs on the Titanic in my trivial, self-important, meaningless way.

Above all, I talked to a friend of more than forty-three years who told me he thought his life had no meaning because all he did was count his money. And, friends in the armed forces, this is the story of all of America today. We are doing nothing but treading water while you guys carry on the life or death struggle against worldwide militant Islamic terrorism. Our lives are about nothing: paying bills, going to humdrum jobs, waiting until we can go to sleep and then do it all again. Our most vivid issues are trivia compared with what you do every day, every minute, every second.

Oprah Winfrey talks a lot about "meaning" in life. For her, "meaning" is dieting and then having her photo on the cover of her magazine every single month (surely a new world record for egomania ). This is not "meaning."

- Meaning is doing for others.

- Meaning is risking your life for hers.

- Meaning is putting your bodies and families' peace of mind on the line to defeat some of the most evil, sick killers the world has ever known.

- Meaning is leaving the comfort of home to fight to make sure that there still will be a home for your family and for your nation and for free men and women everywhere.

Look, soldiers and Marines and sailors and airmen and Coast Guardsmen, there are eight billion people in this world. The whole fate of this world turns on what you people, 1.4 million, more or less, do every day. The fate of mankind depends on what about 2/100 of one percent of the people in this world do every day รข€“ and you are those people. And joining you is every policeman, fireman, and Emergency Medical Technician in the country, also holding back the tide of chaos.

Do you know how important you are? Do you know how indispensable you are? Do you know how humbly grateful any of us who has a head on his shoulders is to you? Do you know that if you never do another thing in your lives, you will always still be heroes? That we could live without Hollywood or Wall Street or the NFL, but we cannot live for a week without you?

We are on our knees to you and we bless and pray for you every moment. And Oprah Winfrey, if she were a size two, would not have one millionth of your importance, and all of the Wall Street billionaires will never mean what the least of you do, and if Barry Bonds hits hundreds of home runs it would not mean as much as you going on one patrol or driving one truck to the Baghdad airport.

You are everything to us, as we go through our little days, and you are in the prayers of the nation and of every decent man and woman on the planet. That's who you are and what you mean. I hope you know that.

Love,

Ben Stein

Does the Army take care of its own?

Based on information I've received in the last 24 hours, the answer is NO!!
The question now is WHY THE HELL NOT!?!?!?!
Don't get me wrong, I think our current military is the finest we've ever produced.
All volunteer; the best and brightest, according to this Heritage Foundation report. (in spite of what Rangle and jon cary say).
The Heritage Foundation also says this:
With regard to income, education, race, and regional background, the all-volunteer force is representative of our nation and meets standards set by Congress and the Department of Defense. In contrast to the patronizing slanders of antiwar critics, recruit quality is increasing as the war in Iraq continues. Although recent recruiting goals have been difficult to meet, reenlistment is strong and recruit quality remains high. No evidence supports arguments for reinstating the draft or altering recruiting policies to achieve more equitable representation.Read the full report here
I've met over 100 in the past year and a half, wounded and active, and managed to get to know half of those personally. I've partied with them, slept with them, (not like that, get your mind out of the gutter), and if there is a better bunch of folks, please tell me where they are.
But the Army is NOT taking care of those who take care of us, IMAO.
It's crap like this that fuels the rabid anti-military anti-war extreme moonbat left.
Get it together, DoD. Take care of your own. You ask them to do a job 90% of the people in this country can't do. The least you can do is take care of them when they come home.

"A New Direction For America - Vote Democratic"

The stock market is at a new all-time high and America's 401 K's are back. A new direction from there means, what?

Unemployment is at 25 year lows. A new direction from there means, what?

Taxes are at 20 year lows. A new direction from there means, what?

Federal tax revenues are at all-time highs. A new direction from there means, what?

The Federal deficit is down almost 50%, just as predicted over last year. A new direction from there means. what?

Home valuations are up 200% over the past 3.5 years. A new direction from there means, what?

Inflation is in check, hovering at 20 year lows. A new direction from there means, what?

Not a single terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11/01. A new direction from there means, what?

Osama bin Laden is living under a rock in a dark cave, having not surfaced in years, if he's alive at all, while 95% of Al Queda's top dogs are either dead or in custody, cooperating with US Intel. A new direction from there means, what?

Several major terrorist attacks already thwarted by US and British Intel, including the recent planned attack involving 10 Jumbo Jets being exploded in mid-air over major US cities in order to celebrate the anniversary of the 9/11/01 attacks. A new direction from there means, what?

Just as President Bush foretold us on a number of occasions, Iraq was to be made "ground zero" for the war on terrorism -- and just as President Bush said they would, terrorist cells from all over the region are arriving from the shadows of their hiding places and flooding into Iraq in order to get their faces blown off by US Marines rather than boarding planes and heading to the United States to wage war on us here. A new direction from there means, what?

Now let me see, do I have this right? I can expect:

a. The economy to go South

b. Illegals to go North

c. Taxes to go Up

d. Employment to go Down

e. Terrorism to c ome Here

f. Tax breaks to go Out

g. Social Security to go Away

h. Health Care to go the same way gas prices have gone

But what the heck! I can gain comfort by knowing that Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Edward Kennedy, Howard Dean, Harry Reid, and Barak Obama have worked hard to create a comprehensive National Security Plan, Health Care Plan, Immigration Reform Plan, Gay Rights Plan, Same Sex Marriage Plan, Abortion On Demand Plan, Tolerance of Everyone and Everything Plan, How to Return all Troops to the U.S. in The Next Six Months Plan, A Get Tough Plan, adapted from the French Plan by the same name and a How Everyone Can Become as Wealthy as We Are Plan.

I forgot the No More Katrina Storm Plan.

Now I know why I feel good after the elections. I am going to be able to sleep soooooo much better at nights knowing these dedicated politicians are thinking of me and my welfare.

Please pass this good news along to all of your friends so they can also feel better.

UPDATE - Leftist Moonbat Now Locked-Up in Federal Prison for Hacking into Protest Warrior Website

Jeremy Hammond from Chicago is now incarcerated in federal prison for illegally accessing the Web site of a conservative political activist group and downloading the credit-card numbers of thousands of its members.

Hammond plotted to use the credit cards to make donations to humanitarian and charity groups opposed by the Protest Warrior Web site into which he hacked.

During the course of the investigation, ProtestWarrior intercepted a number of chat logs between Hammond and his anarchist cohorts. The logs include detailed plots to charge millions of dollars in fraudulent transactions, to publish personal and financial details of political activists, and to execute similar attacks on other conservative websites.

At the website he started (hackthissite.org), his hacktivist minions are vowing revenge on the FBI and Protest Warrior.

Sons of the '60's

From the January 2007 Limbaugh Letter
Now that the Democratic Party is in the driver's seat, the Flower-Power retreads from the "Hell no we won't go" era will be steering Congress. The Wall Street Journal warns about "the Great Society liberals who will soon run most House committees. Henry Waxman, David Obey, Pete Stark, Ed Markey, John Conyers, Barney Frank. These are the sons of the Sixties who helped drive the Carter and Clinton Presidencies off a cliff." (Reps. Obey [D,WI] and Conyers [D,MI] have actually been in the House since the 60's.)
This bunch has over 203 years of hyper-liberal congressional malfeasance --- I mean, service --- among them. Five of these six Committee-Chair geezers are members of the far-left Progressive Caucus. Rep. Fortney "Pete" Stark (D,CA) is so liberal he penned an article in the commie-rag Nation magazine titled "Medicare For All", flat-out advocating socialized medicine ("Medicare has shown us the power of simplicity; we need only expand its promise to the rest of our population"). Rep. Conyers has stuffed legal documents in his Batman utility belt, waiting for the "Impeach Bush" signal. Rep. Ed Markey (D,MA) blogs on the leftwing Huffington Post and writes op-eds with titles like "To Begin With, Bush Isn't King." Rep. Henry "Nostrilitis" Waxman (D,CA) has already announced that "the most difficult thing will be to pick and choose" which subpoenas to throw at the Bush Administration. Rep. Obey has his priorities: "For the cost of less than two and a half months of the Iraq war, we could cover the annual cost of renewing America's wastewater infrastructure." And Barney Frank (D,MA)...well, let's just say the "Summer of Love" once operated out of his basement.
My friends, what have I told you about the baby boomers? They believe they're entitled to whatever they want, whenever they want it. (They weren't called tyhe "Now" generation for nothing.) They've been out of power for 12 years, and they can't wait to tax and spend like Johnson, bend over and grab the ankles for our enemies like Carter, and loathe the military like the Clintons.
On Dec. 11, Rep Stark, ranked by the non-partisan National Journal as the most liberal member of the House in 2005 -- yes, even more left than moonbat Cynthia McKinney -- declared:"The [Democratic] leadership is going to propose the middle ground and I'm going to support it."
Who are trying to kid, Fortney?
We all know you can't wait to show your true tie-dyed colors.
